WHAT IS THE BEST TIME TO PURCHASE A HEADSTONE?

The best time is when you are ready. Headstones can be purchased before or after a loved one has passed. Some cemeteries require that they be placed within a certain period of time, but most will be lenient if the family has at least begun the process of purchasing. We strongly recommend you take your time in choosing and designing what will be one of the most meaningful and long-lasting investments you will ever make.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS?

There are three stages in the creation of a memorial:

  1. SHARING – During a visit, over the phone, or by email, customers speak with one of our memorial counselors about their loved one and share their own preferences and vision for the gravestone.

  2. DESIGN – With ongoing input from the customer, we refine the headstone's design until they feel certain it fittingly honors the memory of their loved one.

  3. FULFILLMENT – Applying our experience and expertise, we create the headstone and then place it at its designated location.

HOW MUCH WILL MY HEADSTONE COST?

Three factors affect a gravestone's price:

  1. The material it is made of

  2. Its size

  3. Its shape

Granite, marble, and bronze are materials commonly used in memorial construction. Granite is a natural resource mined from around the world, and its price varies by color. Specially-shaped gravestones typically cost more than those with a traditional curved or flat top. Additions such as vases, portraits, and extra engraving also affect price. Below you'll find some general cost ranges for different headstone types. Prices include installation:

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE AND INSTALL A HEADSTONE?

The SHARING and DESIGN stages (see above) usually take 2 to 3 weeks. Once a design is complete, the FULFILLMENT stage begins: Gray granite gravestones are typically completed and installed within 3 months. Specially-shaped headstones and those made of colored granite, marble, or bronze may require up to 6 to 8 months. Since each headstone is a custom piece, completion times will vary.

WHAT ABOUT PAYMENT?

We provide free estimates for any headstone concept. For detailed design proofs, a $50 down-payment is requested. (This fee is deducted from the full purchase price of your memorial).

Gravestones are created once full payment is received. Partial ‘installment’ payments are welcome. We accept cash, check, credit, and debit.

All our monument sales come with a free 10-year warranty for re-leveling or repainting. Just give us a call and we’ll schedule the service.
